Community Chaplaincy is not…

·         To promote one particular church  group.

·         To promote one particular faith.

·         To bring division between churches, ministries and faith groups.

·         A new faith or religious group.

 
    
    A Community Chaplain is…

·         An appointed clergy or layman, that performs religious duties (practical ministry with a message) in a public arena.

·         Involved in building relationships with other faith groups, participating in community activities, and supporting community initiatives.

·         Willing to coordinate and spearhead unity-focused activities and programs.

·         Available for itinerant speaking on community transformation.

·         Able to promote community healing and restoration as evidenced by community identified issues.

·         One who acts as a liaison and referral contact between members of the community and various community resources.

    5 R’s Mandate…

        REACH:        Available to all members of the community, without barriers.

        RELATE :     Relationship driven and relative to todays times.

        RAISE :        Provide education and tools to use in everyday life – 24/7

        RELEASE:   Equip and release into the community whole, healed

                                  and contributing members .

        REVIVE :      Community transformation – a result of successfully

                                   meeting the above mandate. Community attitudes

                                   reframed…change realized.
